Washington Co, GA – Woman Dead in ATV Accident on New Bethel Rd
Washington Co, GA (September 19, 2021) – Authorities reported a fatal ATV crash that occurred in Washington County on Saturday, September 18.
Troopers with the Georgia State Patrol are investigating the fatal ATV crash, which was reported on Saturday afternoon. Around 4:00 p.m., state patrol officers were called to investigate the incident on New Bethel Road.
Authorities identified the victim, a 42-year-old woman from Bartow, as the driver of a Polaris Ranger that was pulling a trailer.
Police say while the woman was navigating a curve, the trailer began to sway back and forth for unknown reasons, causing her to lose control of the ATV. The Polaris Ranger then jackknifed and ran off the road, turning over onto its side.
EMS units rushed to the scene but pronounced the woman deceased before she could be transported to an area medical center.
Officers say they are looking into ATV malfunction as a possible cause and are still investigating the events leading up to the deadly accident.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time.
ATV Accident Deaths in Georgia
ATV riders are some of the most at-risk parties on our roads, especially when these accidents involve children. In just one week’s time, fatal accidents claim more than 30 lives in the Peach State.
Though these accidents can involve many different vehicles, ATV accidents lead to fatalities throughout the state every year. Because ATVs offer little protection in a crash and flip easily, devastating consequences result from these incidents.
Facing the loss of a loved one in the aftermath of a fatal wreck is difficult, to say the least. However, this is the reality that many families face each year. As you grieve the unexpected loss of a loved one, you may wonder how you will move forward. Moreover, you may wonder how you can afford to pay the bills that pile up against you. From medical expenses to funerary costs, families shoulder mounting bills while mourning their loved ones lost.
