Walthourville, GA – Boy Dies After Drowning Accident at 100 Rosebud Ct

Walthourville, GA (October 7, 2021) – A deadly drowning incident involving a child was reported last Tuesday afternoon, September 28, in the Liberty County area.  

A 2-year-old Walthourville boy died several days later after authorities found him submerged in a backyard pool, authorities say.

EMS found the boy unconscious in a pool at his home on the 100 block of Rosebud Court around 5:00 p.m. According to Liberty County Corone Reginald Pierce, medical personnel stabilized the child and rushed him by police escort to Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville.

Paramedics then airlifted the boy to Memorial Health in Savannah. Doctors pronounced him dead on Saturday morning, October 2.

It’s unclear if the boy’s parents or guardians were with him when the drowning occurred. Police say they will provide more information in the coming days.
