Stonecrest, GA – Car Accident Leads to Injuries on I-20 Near Lithonia Industrial Blvd

Stonecrest, GA (October 25, 2021) – At 11:18 p.m. on the night of Sunday, October 24, a car accident with injuries occurred on a highway in Stonecrest.

According to DeKalb County Police, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-20 around the area of Lithonia Industrial Boulevard. Several vehicles were traveling on the roadway when one or more lost control, causing the vehicles to forcefully collide with each other. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were seriously injured in the accident. The injured victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions and identities are not yet known.

Two left lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for a period of time. Police urged those in the area to use Covington Highway as an alternate route.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
