Stone Mountain, GA – Victims Hurt in Multi-Car Collision on Hwy 78 at Hugh Howell Rd

Stone Mountain, GA (October 27, 2021) – At 8:00 p.m. on the evening of Wednesday, October 27, a serious accident occurred in Stone Mountain.

According to officials, the wreck happened in the eastbound lanes of GA-78 around the area of Hugh Howell Road. Multiple vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with one another, causing one of the vehicles to violently overturn. The vehicles involved in the collision were badly damaged as a result. 

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their conditions are not known at this time.

Multiple lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for some time as police cleared the scene.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
