Sautee-Nachoochee, GA – Child Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Woodland Rd

Sautee-Nachoochee, GA (September 1, 2021) – On Monday night, August 30, a child was killed in a fatal pedestrian crash in Sautee-Nachoochee.

According to officials, the accident happened at 930 Woodland Road. A 73-year-old man was allegedly driving in the area when he turned into the driveway at the listed address. He was unable to see a 2-year-old child who was playing in the driveway. The man struck the pedestrian with his Honda SUV.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The 2-year-old female child from Gainesville was severely injured in the accident. She was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Due to the severity of the crash, the area was blocked for an extended period of time. It is not believed that the driver was charged. He remained at the scene to cooperate with the police.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
