Marietta, GA – Serious Motorcycle Accident on Cobb Parkway S
Marietta, GA (March 30, 2023) – Serious injuries resulted from a motorcycle crash that took place in Marietta on the afternoon of Wednesday, March 29.
According to Marietta Police Department officials, the accident happened around 12:08 p.m. on Cobb Parkway South at the intersection of Polytechnic Lane. Police confirmed that an 18-year-old woman was headed down Polytechnic in her Camry when she attempted to make a left turn at the intersection. When doing so, her vehicle collided with a motorcyclist who was traveling south. The motorcyclist was immediately thrown off of the motorcycle and onto the ground.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, who has been identified as a 28-year-old man from Alpharetta, was critically injured in the accident. He was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital for treatment, though his current condition is not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for some time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
