Macon, GA – Man Injured in Serious Pedestrian Accident on Rice Mill Rd

Macon, GA (March 2, 2023) – At 10 p.m. on the night of Wednesday, March 1, a man was hurt in a critical pedestrian accident in Macon.

According to Bibb County officials, the accident happened on Rice Mill Road around the area of Sherry Drive. Police confirmed that a 55-year-old man was walking on the road in the area when a 45-year-old man in a Toyota Camry started to navigate a curve in the road. The driver struck the pedestrian and immediately pulled over, remaining at the scene.

Several responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian was rushed to Atrium Health Navicent with critical injuries. Their current condition is not yet known. Nobody else was hurt in the collision.

Due to the severity of the collision, a large portion of the road was blocked in the area. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
