Lawrenceville, GA – Deputy Injured in Car Crash on Buford Dr

Lawrenceville, GA (November 16, 2021) – On Monday afternoon, November 15, a deputy was injured in a car crash in Lawrenceville.

According to Gwinnett County officials, the accident happened on Buford Drive around the area of GA-316. A deputy was traveling in the area when a private vehicle attempted to make a left turn onto Swanson Drive. The private vehicle forcefully collided with the patrol cruiser, which caused the cruiser to strike a utility pole. The vehicles were extensively damaged as a result.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The deputy was taken to the hospital with injuries but their condition is not yet known. The driver of the other vehicle was not hurt.

Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
