Conyers, GA – Tractor-Trailer Carrying Cars For NBC Universal Struck By Train
Conyers, GA (April 11, 2023) – A train collided with a tractor-trailer transporting vehicles for an NBC Universal production in Conyers, Georgia, on Tuesday evening.
The tractor-trailer became stuck at the Scott Street crossing, situated between Green Street and South Main Street, according to Conyers Police Sgt. Quantavis Garcia. Police officers tried to reach CSX to halt the trains but were unsuccessful. Fortunately, the tractor-trailer driver managed to exit the cab before the train hit, and no injuries were reported. Sgt. Garcia mentioned that two older-model vehicles were retrieved from the damaged trailer, which were intended for use in a nearby NBC Universal production.
Remarkably, the train was able to stop about a mile further down the tracks without sustaining damage. Photos released by the Conyers Police Department depict debris scattered around the tracks. Nearby roads, including West Avenue at Green Street, were closed as workers cleared the wreckage.
Although the train was carrying hazardous materials, Sgt. Garcia confirmed there were no leaks or risks to public safety. The area is expected to be clear by the morning commute. The CSX Police are currently investigating the incident.
Truck Accidents In Georgia
Tractor-trailers are some of the largest vehicles on our roads in Georgia, which means that they are capable of causing the most extensive harm in an accident. In just one recent year’s time in the entire U.S., it was reported that around 119,000 people were seriously injured in truck accidents due to the reckless acts of others. Truck accidents happen in the blink of an eye due to many reasons, such as speeding drivers or drivers falling asleep behind the wheel. If you have been hurt in a truck accident that is not your fault, you should speak with an attorney that you can trust.
Truck accidents are incredibly complex claims to handle. This is due to the fact that many different types of laws are at play in truck accidents, more so than many other types of claims. There are many parties who could be at fault for a truck accident, such as the following:
- Truck drivers
- Negligent trucking companies
- Manufacturers of truck parts
- Cargo loaders
