Cartersville, GA – Bicycle Accident at Redcomb Dr & Porter St

Cartersville, GA (September 13, 2021) – On Monday, September 13, a bicycle accident occurred at an intersection in Cartersville.

According to Bartow County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Redcomb Drive and Porter Street. A bicyclist was traveling in the area when he was suddenly struck by a passenger vehicle that entered the intersection at the same time. The cyclist became pinned underneath the vehicle.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The cyclist, who has not yet been identified, was critically injured in the accident. After being removed from under the vehicle, the cyclist was transported to the hospital by medical helicopter.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for a period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
