Blairsville, GA – Man Killed in Fatal Accident on State Hwy 11

Blairsville, GA (October 3, 2021) – On Saturday afternoon, October 2, a man was killed in a fatal accident on a major roadway in Blairsville.

According to Lumpkin County Police, the accident happened on State Highway 11. A 25-year-old man was traveling north on the roadway near the area of Desoto Falls and went around a curve in the road at the same time as a group of motorcyclists. His vehicle was struck by a Toyota Tacoma, causing the vehicle to overturn. The Toyota allegedly drove over the top of the Honda.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were called to the scene. The 25-year-old man was thrown from his Honda. He was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries. A passenger in the Toyota was injured and taken to a local hospital.

Due to the severity of the crash, the roadway was blocked in several lanes as police worked to clear the scene.

No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
