Atlanta, GA – I-285 at I-85 NB Closed After Three-Car Collision, Injuries

Atlanta, GA (November 21, 2021) – Around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday evening, November 21, a serious accident with injuries took place on an Atlanta highway.

Though few details have been released regarding the accident, Atlanta Police confirmed that the crash happened in the eastbound lanes of I-285 at the exit ramp to I-85 northbound in DeKalb County. It is believed that two vehicles collided with one another, possibly crashing into a third vehicle. The vehicles were badly damaged as a result of the collision.

Paramedics, fire crews, and other responders were present at the scene of the accident. EMS crews assisted those with injuries, though the extent of their injuries is not yet known. The injured victims were either treated at the scene by first responders or immediately transported to the hospital for treatment. Officers did not say how many victims sustained injuries.

Almost all lanes of traffic were blocked for a period of time following the collision.
