Atlanta, GA – Auto-Pedestrian Collision on I-285 at Moreland Ave Ends in Serious Injury

Atlanta, GA (November 21, 2021) – At 2:30 p.m. on the afternoon of Sunday, November 21, one person suffered injuries in an auto-pedestrian accident in Atlanta.

According to Atlanta Police, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of Interstate 285 near exit 53 to Moreland Avenue. Police say the pedestrian was attempting to cross at the exit ramp when a driver struck and seriously injured them.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The officer attempted first aid on the pedestrian, who was traumatically injured as a result. EMS units then transported the victim to an area medical center.

The driver has not yet been cited or charged for their role in the accident. A portion of the roadway was blocked in the area for some time.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
