Athens, GA – Car Accident at Lumpkin St & Carlton St Intersection

Athens, GA (October 16, 2021) – At 7:48 p.m. on the evening of Friday, October 15, a car accident with injuries occurred in Athens.

According to the University of Georgia Police Department, the accident happened at the intersection of Lumpkin Street and Carlton Street. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, colliding forcefully with each other. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were injured in the accident. Their conditions are not yet known.

The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
